Have you ever been to a "Buddy Walk"? If not, be sure to clear your calendars for Saturday, October 1st because you are in for a treat. This awareness and advocacy event is held in over 275 locations around the world each year to raise awareness of Down syndrome, which affects over 400,000 people worldwide. It is a day of fun, celebration and great entertainment. This year, NEMDSS is celebrating it's 5th year of doing a Buddy Walk which has drawn in excess of 1,000 people in year's past. This is the largest annual fundraiser for NEMDSS and this year's event will feature: Live Entertainment, Free Food, Inflatable Moon Walks and Bounce Houses, 5K Buddy Run, Huge Silent Auction, Character Visits, Face Painting, Train Rides, Resource Booths, and More! Our group is made successfuly by the members who form, shape and direct our group and its activities. As a member, you will be kept informed of informational meetings, social events, political issues that affect individuals with Down syndrome and the community impact our group makes. We welcome your membership because we want our group to be made up of individuals who see the potential for all individuals with Down syndrome.
