2011 BUDDY WALK at Saltillo City Park

Have you ever been to a "Buddy Walk"? If not, be sure to clear your calendars for Saturday, October 1st because you are in for a treat. This awareness and advocacy event is held in over 275 locations around the world each year to raise awareness of Down syndrome, which affects over 400,000 people worldwide. It is a day of fun, celebration and great entertainment. This year, NEMDSS is celebrating it's 5th year of doing a Buddy Walk which has drawn in excess of 1,000 people in year's past. This is the largest annual fundraiser for NEMDSS and this year's event will feature: Live Entertainment, Free Food, Inflatable Moon Walks and Bounce Houses, 5K Buddy Run, Huge Silent Auction, Character Visits, Face Painting, Train Rides, Resource Booths, and More! Down Syndrome Buddy Walk Event and Sponsorship Information

The Buddy Walk™ is a way the Down Syndrome associations like ours can raise awareness of Down Syndrome in our N.E. Mississippi communities as well as promote acceptance and inclusion of all people living with Down Syndrome. The NEMDSS Buddy Walk™ is one of only 300 licensed walks in the world.

Since the Buddy Walk™ has started in N.E. Mississippi in 2007, NEMDSS has raised nearly $100,000; funds that were used to "Raise Awareness of Down Syndrome in Northeast Mississippi".

The Buddy Walk™ is our largest fundraiser of the year. All funds raised through the Buddy Walk™ will go toward these programs and more:
